alemtowne residents are among the most active in the community,
regularly enjoying activities both on and off campus. Residents
take scheduled trips to enjoy the culture of the region including
community theatre productions, museum tours and visits to Old
Salem to experience music, history and heritage.

| Trip to Lake Norman |
From shopping excursions and local festivals to sampling new and noted restaurants,
groups regularly venture out to sample the delights of Winston-Salem and surrounding communities.
Monthly outings bring residents to unique places of interest
across the state such as:
- Blue Ridge Parkway,
- the Mint Museum (Charlotte) and,
- the N.C. Museum of Art (Raleigh).
On campus, residents may choose to participate in fitness
classes, serve on one of several resident
committees, or simply enjoy Bridge, Scrabble, Canasta, and
billiards. Others may choose to join the movie group for a weekly screening of a classic film.
Special
events bring local artists and their work to Salemtowne as
well as performances from the Winston-Salem Symphony and lectures
from writers and local experts from Wake Forest University and
other community organizations. There are regularly scheduled
activities designed to enhance one's spiritual development including
weekly vespers, intercessory prayer and chapel sessions with
our full-time chaplain and local clergy.
