CHARITABLE GIVING

Salemtowne Charitable Giving Jon Hus Society.Since 1972, when Salemtowne first opened its doors, contributions have enabled us to continue the mission our founders started so long ago - to provide a community where older adults receive care, security, and comfort in a Christian environment. Through generous gifts, we can and will keep this dream alive. With your support, we are able to ensure that high quality care and service are always the foundation of our ministry to each and every resident. Enhancing and preserving this legacy is paramount. Over the past 36 years, Salemtowne has provided financial assistance, through the General Endowment, for residents who have outlived their resources. All residents of Salemtowne receive the same quality of care regardless of their ability to pay. Since its inception, a total of $11,645,200 has been provided to those who needed financial support. Last year alone, $620,000 in financial assistance helped residents in need.

Salemtowne provides a variety of ways to handle your charitable contributions and make joining the work of our mission convenient and easy for you. You may make a gift to Salemtowne in the following ways:

  • Memorial Gift. Gifts of any size may be made as memorials to friends or family members
  • Honorary Gift. Gifts of any size may be made in honor of individuals, groups, companies, etc.
  • Giving Tree Gift. This special giving opportunity, during the Advent season, honors donors with a star on the Giving Tree
  • Mother’s Day Offering Gift. Many donors choose to honor their mothers or a special individual in their lives with their gift to this annual campaign to support resident financial assistance
  • Cash or Stock Gift on a one-time or annual basis.
  • Deferred Gift. Donors may name Salemtowne as a beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust or a gift annuity
  • Bequest. Donors may name Salemtowne in their will
  • In-Kind Gift. Salemtowne will accept gifts in kind but reserves the option of inspecting and rejecting gifts prior to accepting them, particularly for donation of real estate property. Salemtowne cannot provide donors valuations of gifts of property
  • Endowed Named Funds. An endowed named fund can be established for unrestricted and/or restricted purposes. The principal remains unspent and only the income/gains can be used for the stated purpose of the fund. Salemtowne’s endowed funds have a contribution of $10,000 or more
  • The Jon Hus Society. The Society is composed of people who have chosen to include Salemtowne in their estate plans through wills, charitable trusts, gift annuities, life insurance or other estate gifts, or for people who have established a permanent named fund at Salemtowne with a minimum contribution of $10,000.

Salemtowne will remain focused on its mission as a nonprofit organization to serve our residents and others in the community with special needs. We will be vigilant in our fiscal responsibility. We will remain open to the possibilities of tomorrow and confident in our ability to succeed.
