team. A brief summary follows:
The Salemtowne Executive Team
Joseph P. Lydon, President
Joe joined Salemtowne in 2003 having served as the administrator/CEO
for St. Catherine's Nursing Center in Emmitsburg, Md., and
as a long-term care consultant for its corporate partner, Ascension
Health in St. Louis, Mo.
For nine years, he served as the executive
director of Kendal at Longwood, a Quaker-sponsored CCRC
in Kennett Square, PA. Joe is a licensed nursing home administrator
in Maryland, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He holds master's degrees in
gerontology from the University of Southern California and
in American History from Temple University.
Carolyn J. Twisdale, Chief Financial Officer
Carolyn joined
Salemtowne in 2002 having previously served as director of
financial planning, payroll and accounting for WakeMed, a private,
not-for-profit health system in Raleigh, N.C. She also served
as director of accounting and controller for Rex Healthcare,
a private, not-for-profit health system, and as staff accountant
and senior accountant with Deloitte & Touche,
an international public accounting firm. Carolyn earned a bachelor's
degree in accounting from East Carolina University. She has
been a Certified Public Accountant since 1988.
James "Jay" Matthews, II, Administrator
Jay Matthews joined Salemtowne in July 2007 having previously served as
administrator for Carolina Rehab Center of Cumberland in Fayetteville, N.C.
Mr. Matthews earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration -
concentration in Health Care Management as well as a minor in Sociology
from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. Jay is licensed as a
Nursing Home Administrator for North Carolina.
